Mondrian™ SP System
The Mondrian SP System from NuGEN is an innovative new approach to sample preparation based on the use of digital microfluidics for liquid handling. The system software includes optimized protocols for a range of sample preparation methods that use pre-configured and quality controlled NuGEN reagents. Sample preparation is performed in sub-microliter volumes within low cost, disposable cartridges. The system provides plug and play automation with a simple user interface and load-and-go cartridge operation to significantly reduce the hands-on time for genomic sample preparation.
The Mondrian SP System consists of a benchtop workstation, microfluidic cartridges, system software that includes optimized protocols, and matched reagents. It is fully supported by the high level of customer service that you have come to expect from NuGEN.
Mondrian SP Workstation
The affordable bench-top instrument has a small footprint of 15.6" (H) x 21.5" (D) x 8.6" (W), making it the perfect size for installation in any lab environment. Due to the novel liquid handling technology embodied in the disposable cartridges, the units have very few moving parts making them highly reliable and requiring minimal maintenance. Operation via a menu driven, user friendly, touch screen interface offers true walk-away capability. Single instruments accommodate lower throughput requirements effectively, while multiple units can be used in tandem with HTP robotics to further streamline larger workflow processes. The use of Peltier cooling allows for temperature gradients of 4°C to room temperature, and purification is enabled within the cartridges through the use of magnetic beads.
SP Cartridges
Reagent workflows are enabled on the disposable SP Cartridges which process eight samples simultaneously. Cartridges are sealed, thereby reducing the risk of environmental or carryover contamination. Electrical manipulation of discrete aqueous droplets enables moving hundreds of droplets simultaneously and independently, allowing complex enzymatic molecular biological reactions to be conducted quickly and reliably. The cartridge based electrowetting approach replaces pumps, valves and tubes for control of droplet actuation.
SP Reagents
NuGEN will develop and validate sample preparation protocols for a range of applications to provide complete workflow solutions and guarantee reliable performance. Selected protocols will also be provided for third party reagents to supplement the expanding menu of NuGEN optimized protocols for all major NGS platforms.
